I'm of the belief (though I can't say for sure) that this is all just a scam perpetrated by the politically motivated in order to gain leverage and power in the political arena. Think about it. There is just a little too much fervor and passion on that level.

The real question is will the majority of people ever realize that the organizations raising doubt about such connections are funded by energy corporations?

I have no doubt we cause some of the climate change, but not all or even most of it. There is too much evidence that we've had this sort of change happen before, when there wasn't a human impact.

This is just like the 70s all over again. Back then it was "Oh my God, we're going to run out of oil very soon!" Now we're being told we're going to have to grow gills to live on the coasts soon.

A few liberals around is a good thing. We need people who care to remind those that have other goals that the environment and the poor exist and need to be guarded against too much harshness. Get too many at once, and nothing can ever be done because it'll affect someone else's cause, their beliefs, or infringe on their "right" to be happy.

Right now, we have too many liberals in power who are completely invested in global warming being all our fault. They're being handed money by these "carbon credit" companies, who are just as corrupt as the oil companies, if not moreso, since the oil companies actually provide a useful resource. Honestly, this is like the old Catholic practice of buying the good works of the saints to offset your own sins... just a scam to make people money.

I am old enough to remember Time magazine doing a front page article in around 1975 on global cooling.
If you can get an archive of it, you will be scared by the fact that the emotive terminology used then is identical to what is now being written about global warming.

All I know for sure is that I live on the dryest continent on earth and the weather, storms and drought has gone on and on and on. I don't know for sure the cause, but if there is any chance turning off a lightbulb will help, then I'll do it.
