according to hindu mythology you get 8.4 million lives to live before you are born as a human beings so it is pretty valuable. That limits the number species in a way !

Reincarnation is a belief started by the rich priestly classes to get the commoners to accept their sorry subservient lot and not revolt against their masters and superiors. Karma is the perfect control device by the power elites. Imagine, you're poor and powerless because you were bad in your last life. Be a good little slave in this life, accept your lot, and your next life will be better. Perfect system for the power elites to protect their positions.

I don't think so! Each lifetime must be lived separately, yet their is allegedly carry over from past lives in experiences that we did not learn! Trauma from a past life can cause problems in this life! What you put into Law is what you receive! It is better for all if you clean up any bad karma before you make your transition to the other side!
