I believe that the past existed (past tense). It only exists now in the form of memories.

Well if the past never existed then where did everything come from? I wouldn't be able to answer this question if the past never existed.

Nope, I would have to say that it doesn't exist anymore. It's pretty much gone. Neither does the future, only the present exists. So the fact that chick you cheated on your wife with last weekend doesn't matter since the time period doesn't exist anymore. So she shouldn't be mad at you. Just tell her you were on LSD and forgot that you were married. It's ok pal.

It doesn't. It is just a bunch of memories that we place in order according to a rule called "time"

Of course it does, what's wrong with you? Where did the world come from if there's no past??????????????????

Every generation , like the rings on a great tree are far from the center, yet there is a beginning. Yes; the past does still exist though undiscovered as each ring causes the expansion of distance.

The past only exists in consciousness.

right now where physics stands, all past present and future and myriads of other possibilities and universes exists at the same time.

NO.
There is only NOW.
Everything that has ever happened, ever will happen, and is happening is happening right now... the only twist on things is our Perception...through TIME and SPACE. Otherwise you could see the big picture.
If we are not NOW HERE then we are..
NO WHERE.
There is ONLY NOW.

Yes...Doe not yesterday exist? Did you not experience yesterday. Your Yesterday is now your past. What about your life last year...were you not there or is it a figment of your imagination?
I heard an interesting theory about the past. When an event happens, there is a unique metaphysical fingerprint that is left. We cannot see it, but it is there and even though we cannot see or experience it, it influences what exists now.
I believe this to be true, especially when it comes to death.
I think that any event that takes place, leaves a fingerprint so though we can no longer see the event, it is still there.

it exists as much as the future exists

Of course it does for if it did not, we would not exist at all...think about it

It does, and do you know why?

To help us prevent to make the same mistakes in the future.

It only exists in my mind.

""Time simply does not exist. I guess you could call me a materialist. If you can't sense something with your senses does it really exist? Try to describe time, without using time as a reference. We can't see it, can't smell it, can't taste it, etc, etc. Are there any machines that can measure it? A clock? really? What does a clock measure? The movement of its own hands? That's time? What does a clock really measure? Is time defined by the motion of our planet around the sun?

Let's get a little more interesting. If time does exist when was it created? Did it always exist? Did it exist before man came along? Does time really slow down if an object approaches the speed of light?""

You are correct. Where is that 6 year old boy that I used to be? He does not exist. He has been altered. Change has destroyed the past and will create the future. Only the present exists, and even that is gone by the time our senses and minds perceive what it was.
Or that's what I think any way. I'm only a tiny human with puny powers of observation and comprehension.
