Where have all of the philosophers gone?

Question:They have receded onto the heavens, much like the Gods of Roman myth did when mankind no longer had use for them.

We need them to return, or there absence shall prove our undoing...

but sorry he died.

I was asking myself the same question the other day.
but i never got an answer.

philosophy was become somewhat overated as any man and his dog can get a bachelors in philosophy therefore we are not actually encouraging any prodogies to come forward and step into the shoes of Plato

You mean all the great thinkers of the old days, like Aristotle, Socrates, etc.?
Yeah, that's what I was wondering about the other day.
The world has no need for them anymore, we have (incompetent) people to think and make decisions for us now.

These days, people focus too much on money rather than enlightenment. I am also thinking of becoming an official philosopher, but im not sure. ;)

i have a philosophy degree, does that make me an official philosopher? everyone is a philosopher in their own right, just because someone isnt published or popular doesnt mean they are not a philosopher

People tend to focus on the reality of material things. Along with the fast changing world there seems to be no think since everyone is trying to be successfull.

I actually wanted to take a bachelor's degree in Philosophy, but my parent's disagreed, they said there was no money there.

Now I'm going to be in Med school instead.
