I think you have quoted Ms. Sills eloquently.

For her. She was speaking for herself. Everybodys paths are different. Humans like to lump everyone in bins.

Reality tells us that some people get sucessful in various ways.

Luck is life's greatest shortcut to get what you want.

She obviously is a woman without a home.

Because I take every shortcut available when home is my destination. And believe me home is worth it every time.

If something is worth having, it's worth fighting for. Don't expect life handed to you, and don't just accept what did not come at some dear price - working for it will give you the deep satisfaction and appreciation of your accomplishment.

I agree. Life doesn't just hand you things.

If we are talking shortcuts while driving, this quote is incorrect.

All too often goals acquired by taking shortcuts turn out to be not as enjoyable and sweet as they would have been had we obtained them through dedication , perseverance, self denial, self discipline and just plain old hard work. It may be hard to accept but that is how it is. I would much rather have a prize that I worked hard for and earned. Pride in some achievement that you gained by hook or crook is simply not there. You might fool other people but you can not fool that guy that you face in the mirror each morning.
