Question:This person who sayings are below is known as Hazrat Ali. He was a Islamic Philosopher and leader. He was of the same era as Muhammed.
1) Contentment is the capital which will never diminish
2) If you want to remove evil from the minds of others then first give up evil intentions yourself.
3) Be afraid of a gentleman when he is hungry, and of a mean person when his stomach is full.
4) One who imagines himself to be all-knowing will surely suffer on account of his ignorance.
5) Like your body your mind also gets tired so refresh it by wise sayings.
6) That knowledge which remains only on your tongue is very superficial. The intrinsic value of knowledge is that you act upon it.
7) Aid (from Allah) is in proportion to the trouble.
8) To keep silent when you can say something wise and useful is as bad as keeping on propagating foolish and unwise thoughts
9) It is wiser to abstain then to repent.
10) Greed is permanent slavery.

Very useful in a practical way. Also much needed to remind us that, putting aside what we have been taught, all cultures are capable of producing what might be called the perennial philosophy, that which is common to the wisdom of all. Thanks!

I think some of it has good sense and power behind it.
It also matters on the person, for one person this might be enlightenment, for someone else a little different.

Wise words are always useful no matter who said them.

Our fixation on the source often shields us from the truth.
