Question Home

Position:Home>Philosophy> Do you live in someone elses shadow?

Question:Yes and No.

All of the males in my father's family line are all very clever.

They all have phenominal memory recall and are generally quite smart. My brother is arguable one of the worlds top "rocket scientst" and my father was the closest person to a real James Bond that I have ever met. My father's father was a quiz champion, and my father, brother and paternal uncle were equally good at answering "quiz show" questions on TV.

I have a hard time getting and keeping full-time work and recently was diagnosed with problems with my short-term memory and ability to concentrate.

Many of my friends I have known during my life have gained worlds renoun in their endeavours.

I teach chess but often am beaten by my students.

Despite all this I do believe that I am an amazing person of great ability. We are all born with unique abilities and each moment of our lives uniquely equip us to do amazing things that noone else can do.

If we have lived a life of infamy we could wite a book showing what a bad example of a life we have led.

The greatest person I have met was a top sportsman and academic. He had no arms only one leg and he was black.

Many people would see these as disadvantages but he was an inspiration to all he met and the closest person to an angel I have ever met.

If I don't become someone my brother stands in awe of it will be for lack of trying because I believe we all are capable living miraculous lives.

no im not ashley simpson or nicky hilton

no, but i am stepped on all the time

absolutely not i am my own person!...peace@llove=0)

Well I have no sisters but I have brothers I wouldn't say I have lived in their shadow and nobody has lived in mine because I am the baby. I guess I am a lucky one!

yes, loads of my mates'.
obviously theretically speaking, depending on the position of the sun.

My sister-in-laws, shes a fireman and i'm going to college to be a cop. She knows all and I apparently know nothing. I'm tired of it, it gets too cold living in a shadow.

no I'm an only child and do my own things. i don't really look up to anyone because no one is better than anyone else. my parents are a positive romodel though!

I walk my own path and it is in the light .

No , I live with my own shadow , I can handle it even that I'm not strong enogh for that , I get crashed alot of times , but still ( with the help of others too ) hope it'll get better .

really we are all strong enough to walk the path which is ours.
If you are living in someones shadow then the person feel weak.
That does not mean that they cant be strong. All you need to ask ur self is am i and if i am why.

i live in the shadow of the great man i could be, i pray each day to be the person i need to be today, so as i am ready to be the person i need to be tomorow

Yes! I thinks at least 75% of our lives fill with others shadows, religoin, political ideologies, songs, fashions,cultur,ect.ect.Those things you want bring with you when you were born, its lay upon you like shadows ,sometime you can't walk by yourself even if you try, they follows you,if you're only vrey broad minded you can find your own path!

No I don′t. but my husband lives in my shadow and I cann′t stand it anymore...HELP!!!!! (he seems to enjoy himself there)

I walk behind him,
caught
in his shadow.
I do not try to escape,
as he would like me to.
I do not see
who comes the other way
and greets us.

Furtively, I step out
from the carpet of his shadow.
The sun burns me,
and I resume my place.

But now I have seen
what he has hidden,
what he, walking along with me,
has not mentioned
despite his many words.
He has prevented me
from recognizing my sun.

I rebel against
the coldness of his shadow,
against the darkness.
I step out into the sun.
I stay there
until he disappears
with his shadow.

I walk alone
with my shadow,
a loose shawl, in front of me.
I throw it
across my shoulders,
afraid
a passer-by might
step on it
and get caught in it.

I turn into a street
that is wide and open.
Here, nobody walks
behind somebody else.
