my only suggestion is to take a look around you, think who you want to be, what things you can live with and what things you may find hard in life.

i personally like these mottos :)

life is not how many breaths we take, but how many times our breath is taken away.

Do the best you can with what you have.

A true friend is someone who reaches for your hand and touches your heart.

Watch "fight club"
Not exactly spiritual enlightenment, but it will give you a different view on life

whatever you want, don't never, unless you will

~ It isn't the load that breaks us down, its the way we carry it.

~ Don't ask for an easier life; ask to be a stronger person

~ The best way to prepare for life is to begin to live

~What we see depends mainly on what we look for

In all reality, we only get to live one day at a time so, Live it like it's your last and treat all people as your friend.

I don't know how old you are but it never hurts to read tons of books. Hit the books stores or a library and check out the spirituality section. Don't just stop at one thought, just open up your mind to many different thoughts.
"A mind is like a parachute. It only works when it is open!"

"Life cannot be described by philosophy because it's one's beleif, but there are millions of out there with millons of reality"

- Dr. Green (it's just my philosophy,u don't have to believe it)

there isn't one philosophy in life. the way you view it is based on your experiences, weather they're positive or not. in short, experience life as full as you can then base your thoughts on that and make up your own decision.

everyting happens for the best, god is perfect n so is his plan...if sometimes things might not go the way we plan we dont need to worry, coz sooner or later we will see the good of the unwanted events...just keep ur hopes high and have faith in god...coz he is the one who gives us problems n also gives a solution for them....BLES-SED!

I was raised christian, and left it as a teenager. I now read and study Buddhism and Taoism.
I enjoy that.
It is more like: mind your own business first, then you will know. Pain comes from being attached to things that are impermanent, since they will leave.
Try the Unitarian church. It is about looking in all sorts of places for truth and your own way of believing.
Read Eckhardt Tolle or listen to one of his tapes. They are amazing.
Happy hunting.

eventually all will return to the source from where we came

Don't complain, don't explain.

If you're wanting spiritual enlightenment, it wouldn't hurt to explore other religions. Travel to India, go to Peru, see other cultures and the way they live. Visit holy temples and imagine belonging to it, the way some people do.
Or, if you don't want something extreme (I'm guessing you're still about sixteen) I agree, going to the library's a great place to start. Study Plato and Nietzche and Descartes and decide for yourself what YOU think.

dude, read. look into many different spiritualities and find one that you agree with. if you cant find one, then make one.
you said you want an outlook on life that is yours so all you have to do is figure out what you want

I was always told ; Do whatever you want in life, just make sure your happy. But don't hurt anybody else.

Also make sure you watch, " Its a wonderful life " - A great film , that shows you why there's always a point of living.
