Position:Home>Philosophy> Can most or all of the world's problems be blamed on overpopulation?

Question:Not at all. If the rich people in the world lived sensibly and conscientiously, there would be no problem. The poor and heavily populated parts of the world don't use up anything like the same resources per head than we do in the north.

The problems in the world are caused by greed, selfishness and distrust. All of these can be conquered, but people are afraid or ashamed, and don't want to face up to what they have to do to overcome these problems. That applies to me as much as anyone else, but i'm working on it.

  • The world isn't overpopulated, it is over concentrated. If only the highway right of ways were planted we could feed us all, ever notice how much land lies between settlements and cities? Its a matter of greed and logistics.

    Definitley not.

We are not overpopulated. We just don't preserve and moderate what we have.

    No.
The nice thing about unfettered capitalism is that some enterprising person with capital can always find a way to solve a problem. The next problem will be solved by the next entrepreneur.

The world is not over populated. We are not even over "concentrated." We are solution-bankrupt because the people who can solve problems are rarely allowed to.

So someone makes money fixing problems for other people. Is that bad? If it is bad, then by all means, prevent the capitalists from solving the problems when capital can solve the problems.

an overpopulation of lazy, mean and cruel politicians, yes
