Position:Home>Philosophy> Is Swedenborg considered a philosopher or a theologian?

Question:Well, given that he had psychic premonitions (fire in Stockholm) and that he is widely read in theological circles, he is probably more theologian than philosopher. I would say he would define himself as neither, judging from his character, and the way that people in that time thought about religion, but you have to remember that he lived in the same time as Kant, and therefore they all had very 'Enlightened' ideas about religion and philosophy, comparabale to Hellenism where Christianity was thought of as the true science.
