Position:Home>Philosophy> In order for something to be purely perfect, do we all have to agree that it is

Question:I think perfection exists with the individuality. When you find something perfect, that does not mean others will think the same. In order for something to be purely perfect, the various aspect of it must conflict every detail in one another and either eliminate or resolve that no one can possibly object. Perfection means its smoothed around the edge without any rough sides; (the negative aspects.)

Perfection is relative, nothing can be perfect in everyone's eyes. Is perfection another word that human mind cannot properly grasp like the concept of infinity? Is it a mere exaggerating word that is non-existent? I am not referring to the insignificant ones people usually speak about; 'perfect clothes', 'perfect looks', etc. Rather the whole picture of what it is.

The philosophical standpoint on this question:
Plato was the first Philosopher to truly define the relative and the absolute. The never ending dualism in our minds that controls every action we take and every thought we think. To seperate the relative from the absolute he used the term eidos (greek: idea). Eidos defines a whole and thourough version of an idea, matter, subject that we can experience with our senses. The most important eidos is the eidos of "the good". Good in its absoluteness is an idea that we only can understand with our rationalism (by thinking). Good in its relativeness we can experience in our every day life with our senses, hearing music (Schopenhauer), seeing good deeds, tasting good food... ( all this sensual experiences link to the absolute idea of the good --> the eidos "good" combines all the good in our everyday life and is therefore the perfect version of what is good. Plato even calls it the "good by itself", meaning that its pure and just good, and doesnt need anything else to be so!
For every action we take and experience in the relative world there exists a absolute version of it as an idea (eidos). So in order for something to be purely perfect, nobody has to agree and nobody has to disagree, because what we judge, our opinions are all relative and therefore can never reach an objective state of absolute certainty of perfection. Perfection happens, when all the relative experiences and actions linked to the perfect idea are combined. This state can surely be pursued but never be reached ( kind of like the pursuit of happiness btw. ). Perfection can never happen in our experience and action. What we see, hear, taste ... is only a "cheap" copy of a perfect version in an absolute world, that is only open to us by means of ratio!

no, that is merely popularity.

Perfection - like, sublime perfection - is simply truth. That is, anything that is real, and seen for what it really is, is seen as perfect. Things are only imperfect when our minds can't grasp them as they really are. There are no positive and negative aspects, just perfection and illusion.

I agree. Perfection is your mathematical satisfaction.Perfection fulfills every mathematical rule..

We will all have different ideas of perfection based on different criteria. The idea of human perfection is flawed in that from the moment we are born we begin the process of dying. We cannot maintain so much as a skin cell, or hair follicle so we are constantly in flux.
Purely perfect is more an emotional statement, and an expression of how we relate the person to fitting with ourselves.
In art or form we can talk about an object reaching a state of
perfection in that it doesn't alter without an outside force.
A human has no such ability to resist alteration so the designation is subjective.

Perfection is a word, it has meaning only in the context of human language, and the humans who invented it and use it. Perfection is an idea that is a cousin to god and heaven. A place of eternal bliss, and an omniscient thing watching over us. These ideas are only real to the people who convince themselves that they are real. If you knew what perfection was you would have to believe that every moment you weren't perfect was in same way flawed. Perfection is a well rolled joint as the sun comes up.

there is mainstream perfect, and there is perfection in a single persons view so i would say if u think something is perfect no one can disagree if you in your heart u think its perfect.

God's perfect ... otherwise He isn't a God now is He?

It's innate, what we are returning to as creations of God.

no. approval is not a condition for perfection.

No, as we are not the ultimate judges. We can con even see all dimensions of one object, not even a raindrop. Can we see a raindrop from all sides? No! So how can we be judges. Perfection is a transitory state, even if human eyes could hold it.
