Or following our heads instead of our hearts?

Love and blessings Don

"Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

It is hard to spell out what is really going on in our heart! But I love this promise...it puts everythink into perspective.

For me, I think I'm just afraid of being unworthy.

When this world is so overwhelming and life sometimes becomes too stressful, it is hard to really focus on life. For one, a person with no mom or dad might not focus on the future, but the now, for he/she figures their lifes screwed up anyways. It all depends on hope, and on how much you want your life to get better.

To formulate a goal according to what you want is ego center, and usually you take a wrong goal.
To formulate a goal you needs Holy Spirit to guide you.

There exist many forces at work therewith, which bears upon one's wants. One can have virtually anything one wants provided that that is what one 'needs'. Second, one cannot have manifest anything that that individual does not yet rate or has not yet the capacity to contain it: the universe will and must have its way. Third is the most familiar and popular, that of what one makes of oneself and those things outside of oneself, some of which things you list: fear, diffidence, the lesser esteems. Fourth is flat out lack of clarity, which approximates the same in the forementioned. Fifth, interruption from outside forces over which one simply may have no control -- again, on that of the mechanics of the universe.

we are afraid to not be able to accomplish these set goals. this fear stops us from letting us perform at our destined potential. we are God's children, and he has high expectations but if we don't accept this we wont get anywhere in our lives.

Stella ! The confusion my head hurts .

All of us have the fantasy of what we think we want. And few
of us can objectively look at ourselves to see if we are
actually capable, emotionally of attaining some of these
goals. It's a trial and error process and we need to realize
when it's time to put some goals aside and try for things
that are more suited to our particular talents. This has been
a hard lesson for me, but I've learned it without giving up
the core of my dreams in life..some compromise isn't
a bad thing in the long run, but you have to try a lot of
different paths first before finding the one to take you
home.

I think we are afraid of failure. Or maybe it's simply because we really don't know what we want.

From my life what I have learned is that one factor is fears, fear of failure, fear of success.
There is also uncertainty, uncertainty of what we need or want.
Lack of guidance, lack of will, lack of drive, lack of motivation.
And even as you have mentioned, worthiness.

None of the above. It's often only ignorance of what options there are - or fear of specifics and particularities. Or fear of letting go of fuzziness - or fear of "biting the bullet". It's not so difficult if you toss away learned expectations and learned fears, use words carefully to truly define what you seek (rather than the image that stands for it), and determine to be ruthlessly honest with yourself. But you need to really know about yourself, first. And through life you need to do it regularly to avoid getting into a rut of avoidance. Doing that you often find your life is in fact satisfying some real priorities, and discontent is merely spawning from options you've rejected because they wouldn't satisfy what's at present more important to you. Been there, done that.

first concentrate on your thoughts what you want in life ...and then work on it leaving evrything on... god ...he wiil lead you from untruth to truth ...from darkness to light and from death to immmorality

Fear keeps us from moving on with life!

Confusion is what makes our desires in life hanging as to what we want. Our mind is still at a loss if the reasons we have formulated are the right answers on what are hearts one. If there is a confusion, it is better to trust an listen to one's heart. There are reasons in the world which the head could not comprehend but only the heart that knows the reasons behind.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

We formulate the goal in our mind first. Then think the possibility and make effort to achieve it. and we achieve it. I ma not afraid of divine.Divine is there to help us. I am sure of my desire. always worthy.

Because we as everyone else undersees or underestimates what we are capable of doing therefore that makes it harder to put a goal into perspective.Another reason might be due to confusion, others' opinions and things in life that influence us. Goals are hard to make or formulate because in many cases we look at it as being too unreaslistic or not realistic enough, challenging or not challenging enough, so the extremes vary. For many of us it is hard to put together a goal yet as we age, mature, grow to be wiser and learn lessons from life we can make our goals easier to formulate.

fear is the answer for all ur questions.just leave it behind and go ahead with what u want in ur life.

There is no one answer, I think you answered you own question, the three you listed all apply. A few others would be fear of our goal not living up to our expectations, then dealing with disappointment. How about becoming a slave to that goal? Some things we start on are not that easy to discard. And then, how bad do we want the goal, what sacrifices are required?

But I think you already got the big three.
