Question:string together a theory of original thoughts. Or not.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: string together a theory of original thoughts. Or not.

No but he likes to think he has. That is his false ego. Anything and everything has already been thought of. There is no original thought or Creation. We can not have a thought that does not already exist. We can not create something that has not been created> One has to take into consideration that there are innumerable planetary systems with innumerable living entities on them. We have to make our mind broad to really understand this. Actually we can not have any quality that God does not have. We have all the qualities of God but never in the same quantity. But when we come to this material nature our qualities become distorted by material illusion. For example-A drop of water from the ocean has all the qualities of the Ocean, but the drop never becomes the great ocean. This is not an original idea. It is all written in the Ancient Vedic wisdom, namely the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam. Translated By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada. They can be read on line. Thanks for asking.

One thing is for sure, a 'pragmatic', detail focused sensor isn't going to be doing much of that kind of thinking!

I think they have a better chance of having a new perspective from which to contemplate any theory.
It is a gift to be able to recognize the schools of thought we tend to use in our daily lives and step outside of them.
Good luck.

I believe so.

yes ,but one needs enough uninterrupted time to think it trough.

Aristotle differed 180 degrees from his teacher, Plato, and "strung together" more originality than his teacher. Plato, the student of Socrates, devised all most all the questions we still ask today, not the questions and answers of Socrates. Ayn Rand said the major difference between Aristotle and herself was that "Aristotle regarded "essence" as metaphysical; Objectivism regards it as epistemological." Based on that, she "strung together" many original ideas, as hated as many of those ideas are.

But any thinker can put original ideas into play, because the purpose of philosophy is not to be ivory tower, but to apply to life. So you take your own favorite philosopher and you apply his/her epistemology/metaphysics/ethics etc to topical ideas.

That is one reason Rand is hated. Her ideas were so topical, she was a pain in the side to her enemies.

There is nothing new under the sun. Who said that Hemingway? or is it a Shakespeare paraphrased?

well sorta... but based on others thoughts and the world around you ... you can not imagine what you have not seen, its true try and imagine a magical beast...did you think of one?

now you may think you made up but you did not...think about it did it have a head? that was not made by your mind now was it? or other features... and even if it was a blob it was solid.... that isnt new or if not it was empty space... witch exists around us.

there is nothing left to think of... or is there? who says there is not another option to matter and empty space? we have not seen it but it could be there. but because our mind is incapable to "create" what we have not seen we may never know.

you see we can think of something "new" but never beyond what already exists just a different form of it

Define original thoughts. Most thinkers, free or otherwise, build their theories on the thoughts of others. Nothing wrong with that because they are free to see relationships that people educated in just one field cannot.

I am, you are, it is, Ok?

To be truly original you would have had to grow up and live your entire life in a place away from all education and other people. Nothing is original!
What do you have against free thinkers? Do they scare you because they might know something you don't?

i think so.
because even if "nothing new is under the sun" as i saw another one post up, new combinations and ways of seeing these things can always be created

thats like is there anything free in freedom! or not?

Real power consist of not having any....if power is your goal

They have more creativity than most people is what I think!

I don't see how anyone can NOT be a free thinker because how can anyone else make you think something unless you choose to? Thinking IS free.
