Question:I hear that word being thrown around all the time but really, what is it?! Simply getting past the bad in your life? Accepting it? Learning from it?

The best way to understand it is to watch a murder mystery.

All the drama, all the plots, all the violence, are explained by the detective in the last 10 minutes. The guilty are punished, the innocent are absolved. This is closure.

Closure means we understand what has happened. What can be done, has been done & it's time to move on.

Closure means the issue that has captured your attention is resolved. Closure is when you are FINISHED learning from an event. It is when you have gotten & gotten away with your revenge OR decided you don't really need to get revenge.

The operative word is close. When the story is done, and you close the book and say: What a great story. That's closure.

Resolve .

Hmm. The idea of 'closure' is simply getting a conceivable end to a period of your life, whether it's a situation with another person that's been causing a change in your life or personality, or anything else. It's basically an action, thought, or scenerio which, for you, defines an end to a specific era of time that's been ((usually)) causing you stress.

It doesn't have anything to do with accepting or getting past or learning from the bad in your life. It's simply what you recognize as the end of a situation or problem. Where you go from there is your own choice as an individual, but everyone has closure at some point or another to seperate aspects of their life from one another.

Hope that helped :)

One hopes you would learn from any event which falls under closure....

Waht you do to an open door

i think its a point of letting go from the questions (like what ifs) that tourture you... you are able to close a chapter and move on...
I think learning is infered

acceptance... i suppose

I do wonder if its only about the bad in life... i think perhaps its anything u stumble or stuggle with... i have had some nice relationships that didnt work out ... wasnt bad but i still sought closure... lol some i still seek!

Closure is accepting that what was is no longer, and not living with your mind in the past.

No such thing.
Any traumatic experience you will never forget.
The experience just becomes less stronger with the passage of time.
Hang in there. Your accumulating scar tissue.
Just like the rest of us.
Closure would mean losing your memory.
