Question:just a form of delayed happiness?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: just a form of delayed happiness?

My torments are more like in the pursuit of happiness instead of a form of delayed. :)

I am the superman
Thus I have no torments

my torments are not yours, lol
my torments are of my own making.. it's when i make so big a deal out of a problem, it's when i choose to be ungrateful or to forget to count my blessings..

Being able to delay gratification is more often the better step toward happiness. The ones that cannot usually end up with some addictive behavior which becomes all encompassing hamster wheel lifestyle.

I think so. I have a hard time because there's a little possivility of my succeeding in doing something. Some will say torments are valuable in itself because it can cultivate one's mind or make one more patient, but in my opinion, if there are torments that I think have value, they are just a part of the way whose goal is ''success'' ''achievement of a purpose''.
But, I don't know in detail what you mean by the word ''torments''. It would depend on your own experience and feeling.

My torments are the stepping stones, or stumbling blocks on the path to peace. They are lessons I must learn, or repeat until I get the point. They are more than a delayed happiness. Happiness comes in the removal of obstacles and a the rejoining of a straight and level path... it's circumstancial. Torments have a purpose. They teach us, what we would not learn otherwise. Sometimes we learn from others mistakes, sometimes we don't see the lesson, until it is given directly to us. Torments bring joy, which is stronger than happiness... b/c it is not circumstantial. Joy is peace in the midst of torment, knowing you'll make it through regardless of how grim the outlook is.

Something like that...
