Which is more comforting to you? Believing we came from dirt or from monkeys?

Question:PLEASE tell me what it is that I need "comforting" from. Neither idea bothers me. BOTH ideas may be true. Nature is what nature is. You expect me to be bothered by nature? I am what I am because nature exits.

Monkeys is more rational. I understand it better and it doesn't look like magic. I see many people on the road looking like monkeys so it gotta be real.

From the evidence so far uncovered, it appears that humans and apes, evolved from a common ancestor. Monkeys evolved from a different line from the apes and humans.

Even monkeys and apes, as do all living things, return to the "dirt" of our physical constituent elements, after some time. The next time you find a dead bird or frog, bury it, check that place six months later, and see what's there.

Each culture's myths' purposes serve to explain truths beyond the physical. Myth is intended to explain the reality of something. If they explain something physical in the process of explaining the reality, it is incidental.

Since we didn't come from either, I'd say the question is moot.

Primates and humans share a common ancestor, but one did not come from the other. And I'm comfortable being me, no matter where we came from.

Or monkeys made from dirt! A third way!

So where did monkeys come from?

is dirt supposed to be the same as intellegent design? cause if thats the case of course that would be more comforting. but since reality could care less about our comforts we know which one is correct. and that means much more than anything else.

I'm fairly sure most of my ancestors came from a dirty monkey!

Believing and hoping sincerely that all children will one day receive a better education in scientific matters than you and other common people I come across. Are you looking for reality or comfort?

What? I thought anyone who believes we came from monkeys assumes we already evolved from some spontaneous chemical reaction that came from dirt.

I believe there was an intelligent observer who put his own mark in the dirt to create all things in their own time.
