Love, as with all other emotions, is a metaphysical response to values. All things metaphysical have identifications, definitions.

Why should love be any different?

That is actually a really good question i am gonna keep my eye on this one for an answer because i have no bloody idea

so that one can "understand" what they are feeling.

Love is defined so that we can recognize it. Love is NOT the tingly feeling of romance when we see possibility in another person. Love is the slow and steady day to day being there for family, friends, and neighbors.

Absolutely good question.

Well, I have no answer to this, b'cos I can never define love.
Love is never defined its abyss feeling that takes birth when we start feeling for someone. When u love someone, u never think wht love is, u think what r the ways to love.

Everything can be defined. In this world love is a perverted reflection of the actual love, which is unending and unlimited. On the material plane love is tainted with lust (or desire for our own sense pleasure) If one wants to actually love, then they have to put the creator in the center of our relationships. (Also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, Rama, etc.) We have to understand that this world is temporary and not our real home. That we are not these bodies, IE Race, color, nationality, religion, mind, intellect, job etc. That we are all eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, named above. Actual love can only be realized by seeing that every living being is a part of God and we are all His eternal loving servants. In any relationship, we are to help them come closer in that eternal loving relationship with our Maker, and not try to enjoy them for our own sense pleasure. In this way we can actually love, but it is a rare soul who actually attains this platform. Bhakti Yoga is the process for attaining true love. Not some stretching or breathing exercises, but a process of offering all of ones thoughts, words, actions, talents, etc., in the loving service of God and to always glorify His holy name no matter what ones path. In this way we can actually learn how to love every living being equally. For info read The Science of Self Realization by Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada.

Love is defined for it is the center of everything. The life of humans had a great role with this emotion. It perfectly makes a man fulfiiled in seeking happiness.

Thanks for asking. Have a great day!

All concepts have definitions.
-------

"Romantic love, in the full sense of the term, is an emotion possible only to the man (or woman) of unbreached self-esteem: it is his response to his own highest values in the person of another—an integrated response of mind and body, of love and sexual desire. Such a man (or woman) is incapable of experiencing a sexual desire divorced from spiritual values."

"Of Living Death," The Objectivist, Oct. 1968, 6. - Ayn Rand

it isn't.

We all have different ideas about what love is, so it doesn't make much sense to define it..

Love is very broad. It is the kindness, you offer for someone or something.

Love is an abstract word.
It has many meanings and connotations.
It is only defined if you do not openly accept it is more than you can ever understand.
