Question:Other than IQ?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Other than IQ?

I will not give you a cut and paste answer from the internet. My son is a mensa member and I have met lots of geniuses.

This is what I think:
Science now consider geniuses to fall under many intelligences ( maths, verbal, artistic, etc) . So geniuses can be found in many categories. Geniuses are those who excel undisputably in a particular area of discipline (chess genius, math genius, etc)

Genius can be inherited but it can also be acquired by hard study and disciplined determination to learn provided one has the capacity to reach genius level; it can happen from an accidental quirk of nature or accident ( a fall, a nervous breakdown, etc.)

Not all geniuses get to be successful people. Quite a lot of them are maladjusted socially.

Successful people are usually those who are extremely focused on their goals and work hard to attain it. Not all of them are geniuses, but once successful, people think they are.

developed skill.

insight.

making or having made good decisions in life.

IQ is only the means to measure intelligence.

Everyone's intelligence or lack of it has to do with HOW they are able to see similarities or dissimilarities in choices. This has to do with epistemology.

A woman who home schooled her 4 younger children taught them so well they all tested "genius." The older child who went to public school did not test genius.

Epistemology can be learned. Some young children learn it like a genius. Why?

Someone who is a well rounded person and someone who is an expert at everything. They have to grasp information fast and be able to tell someone else about it. It can be defined as someone who has exceptional intellectual ability and originality. For example, Hitler, Thomas Edison, Mozart and various other people.

Someone who seem to good at everything he/she do.

Discover or Invent something that changes life and history, i.e. Newton, Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, the Wright Brothers, Alexander Graham Bell, Albert Einstein and Bill Gates for his monopoly on Windows OS (to name a very few that flash before mind).

an old, but nice idea - to be a genius is to be the first person who sees the obvious.

he must be excellent in all areas of study:maths, sciences, english and humanities all at the same time in addition to aptness in reacting to impromptu situations where decisions are needed to be made immediately or on the spot.
