Ok no bible, positive psychology 101. Happiness does not come from external things, like jobs, or possessions or meeting the right man or having alot of money.

Happiness is a choice that you MAKE. You decide if you're going to happy or proactive or postive or you decide you're going to be miserable , negative, reactive. The choice is up to you. It's your attitude and how you think about things, law of attraction from the Secret and whether you like it or not most religions.

Scientists have found that there is a happiness set point within each of us , no matter what happens to us, good or bad , we return to the same level of happiness we had before.

However, we can move that state of happiness by our choices. Helping out or volunteering your time within the community in other words doing something for someone else other than you or your immediate circle of friends or family.

It has also recently been reported on ABC news that people who are optimistic and positive recover better from heart attacks and strokes than those who are negative and reactive.

People who choose happiness and positivity are more satisfied with their lives as was reported this morning on the Today show .

So now you know about happiness.

I think real happiness is when your content with yourself and yourlife. I havent been truely happy for two years since i started a new school and thinking back to the times i had in my old school, i get depressed cause now i know what true happiness is but it seems so far away now..
if you get me?

True happiness comes from within. You must truely love and appreciate yourself on all levels. Then you must learn to love and appreciate everything around you similarly.

Happiness is realizing the beauty in everything.

for me I found out it was a choice to be happy or not!
nothing but yourself can make you happy in my eyes!
not money not items others can help but bottom line it's up to you!

or me yeah you get my point?

For me it has been living a life of honor and integrity. By honor and integrity I mean facing the truth in every situation, endeavoring to be wise and fair, taking complete responsibility for my victories and failures, going to the heart of every matter and seeking the truth in it, being forgiving, and being the best friend to all I know how to be. Laughing a lot gives me great pleasure!

I seek to learn, like a fish out of water seeks water, from the experts in every area, especially the experts/masters in what it means to be human and live in society with humans and our planet.

Pray to the Lord and sleep with a Bible under your bed and pray to baby Jesus before you sleep. J/K... Personally I think that being happy is a result of being content. I think to be content you have to arrive at who you are, what really matters and then take action to make your life what you want it to be. Also, I think being content may have a lot to do with giving up competing with others for bigger and better houses, cars, etc.

to be grateful for what we have, even if it is little

A lobotomy. Some people seem to know all to well the misery of life, and others live in ignorant happiness.
To me its the wonder of things to come and things not yet explained by science or religion. I also try ignore misery. And I guess I could also think of it as giving others happiness. Seeing someone else smile, laugh, or change their life for the better because of me is very rewarding.

Happiness is found within yourself. It's how you react to things ,not what happens. It's too bad you do not want to hear what God can do for you. I hope you will find true happiness one day.

Life is not about happiness. Happiness is a means and not an end. First off real happiness is joy. Joy is eternal. Happiness is temporal. Plus in your question you don't sound open. You said not to go rambling about the Bible or prayer. So you want your ears tickled. Solomon says in the Bible that all is vanity.
He had everything and was miserable. A relationship with God is the key to real and true happiness. The material cannot satisfy the soul because the soul is non physical. One has a million dollars and wants more.

knowing that you have done everything you could have possibly done in any given situation and that you gave it your absolute best, nothing less that there was not an ounce more you could have given of yourself. doing the best that you can, as much as you can, everytime you can will always make you feel happy.
