Position:Home>Philosophy> Which side would you chose of a double edged sword?

Question:this question sprang from another i asked...ok...
would you want a world where which their was only one reigion, race, etc. beliefs, ideas..there would be no racism or wars. but everyone would be the same and live in peace.
or
would you want a world as we are in today? the exact opposite of the first.

the double edged sword is you can have a world of peace everyone dreams of but, only if you give up your differences, like what makes you...you.

why would you chose which ever one? and how could you try and improve it. if you can think of anything. if not, no big.

I kinda like it here on this side of the dream...I really don't mind what people belive...as long as they don't expect me to buy it.

that's impossible part of what makes me me is the area of space i occupy, it measn i have a different perspective on things than other people do, i see different things and experience different things. so in order in order for your scenario to be possible there could not be an everyone, just a me. and in that case i would take the world we have now.

I will keep it the way it is. Because that is really all it would ever be.I do not see fantasy as being philosophical as much as a polls and survey kind of thing. Why do you?

'Which Side of a Double Edged Sword', to my mind a DES is the same on both sides-theoretically.

Therefor it doesn't matter which edge you choose, the result will be precisely the same.

Trying to draw equilibrium, between an 'Double Edged Sword' and the Current Worlds Society. Is completely ridiculous.

There is NO SIMILARITY, between the 2. The World stage is divided into 100's if not 1,000's, of differential perspectives. Ranging from Religion to Sex/Race/Colour/Economic View/Political View/Territorial View, even down to the point.
That there is, supposedly, 236 different dialects of 'Mandarin' in the Chinese preferred language.

So drawing a similarity bertween 'A Double Edged Sword' and the World Society. Is INSULTINGLY SIMPLISTIC.

Then, the not.

You cannot suppress those bad aspects of my personality without compromising the good aspects. the world you promote is like "The Stepford Wives".

My anger and rage help me to create works of passionate art; my unbridled lust allows me to see the beauty that is in the world and even in my younger days, my cruelty and racism forced me to confront the beast within and realize that it served no real purpose.

The point is, it must rain, it must snow, it must get overcast and cloudy, to help us appreciate it when it is sunny and fresh and clear.. Both halves make the whole

A world in which everyone was the same? How terrible humanities differences are what make us unique, and strong. Not to mention many of the things we use in everyday life were developed during wars, which would have never been fought in a world where everyone was the same.

I would choose the inside.

I think the world should keep the way it is now, it is impossible for all people the same all over the world, if that, the whole world will have no improvement and everyone keep still with no progress.
