Both, and often, neither.

I would suggest that we pave the way. Always plan ahead and set goals to be sure things will happen that you want to happen.

both. the path to hell is paved with good intentions.
things in this life happen that we have no control over, but even then we make all the choices ourselves.
i believe in God and that he has his plans for me and i try to follow those, but i still have to make the right decesions to get there.

Thats a bit deep kid. But the answer is that we make it up as we go along. If I carry the slabs, Will you lay them?

Believe in quantum mechanics... namely that we're still trying to work it out.

pave it be brave

everything we do, lays down the path before us .

just no

We make the choices in life on our own. Sometimes there'll be mistakes, and other times it'll be the right step.

I also believe both. There is a main path; but we decide which small paths we take off of it i.e. relationships, jobs etc. but we always continue on the main path.

life presents before us many paths and we choose the road before us. If we choose to do so, indeed we pave our way with the resources we have on our journey.
"As we stand at the crossroads,
we must search for the ways of the ancients,
and seek the right paths, that our spirit may grow."

pave it

We pave the path and control the route we take, but few of us know the destination and are able to deal with obstacles on the way there.

We pave the way - by choice. We are given freedom to be what we want to be under spiritual, ethical, moral and lawful guidance. As long as what we do is right, its not harmful to yourself and others, we can freely do what we want to do. Planning and organizing your activities to reach a certain goal in life - is paving your life's path. Its your life, your choice, your responsibility.

A little bit of both, mired in the liabilities and obligations of existentialism.

Pave. Despite popular opinion and belief in pre-destiny, an angel did not come to earth, paint a line and say "That's your path". It is made up from our choices moment to moment, which are in turn influenced by our beliefs, thoughts and especially, FEELINGS.

Both.

Free will and fate complement each other and often supercede eachother.

In most people free will is not developed enough so fate plays its major role. For a few with well developed and strong will power their will and efforts dominate their fate. These are the people who mostly pave their own path in life and follow less of the life's path already kept paved for them by the fate.

How to become a person with tremendous, indomitable and strong will power with the backing of enduring, incessant and long lasting efforts that do not get defeated by fate ? It is a long stroy and a long journey in the realm of spiritual science.
If interested you can write to me and we can discuss this.

Both of those. Sometimes we have to follow what is meant for us, and sometimes we are able to choose. Depends how important it is to our growth.

Do we believe that paths of our life are laid down for us upon which we are mere traveller? Or, do we believe that there is nothing in the future that is to come, all is here and now in the making, in our control and resting upon our choices?

If we believe in destiny then we also believe in some supreme intelligence or some absolute power, beyond our control. We believe in God, for instance, and trust that we will get somewhere in the end, but the reason of being in His world, that it matter but a little if we faltered, failed and at times lost our track of righteousness, as we will be forgiven by our Kind God.

In the later case, however, we might not believe that life is in the making, in our hand, in the moment that we are right now; that we are the independent authors of our life. We might believe that God Almighty is the creator of every moment in our life. But the significant things here is that we maintain our beliefs by the virtue of our independent will levelled up to our natural capacity of our believing. Something that we regard valuable above all the rest, and we at every step of way, at every moment of our life, hold on to. We maintaining our faith in God, and try to do our best we can in order win His pleasure. This is me sounds just like paving the way of our life, not with efforts of our deeds, but with the power of our faithful beliefs.

And on the other hand if we believe that there is no path along which we are but destined to travel towards a preordained destination then we believe that life is all that we make of our time and effort in the world. We work hard every step of the way to make sure that we are doing it right. Therefore, the answer in either way is the same that this world in is grasp of our making, or has been given in the grace of our faithful mind. We pave the way in either case.

We are here for a purpose and to learn specific lessons about being good human beings, but whether we fulfill our purpose or ignore it and decide not to learn, is our own choice.

Most of the time, I just get stuck in the concreate!

I think there is a path through which your parents, your schooling and early opportunities as a child that are out of your control, pave for you that you inevitably follow. Some people continue along the easiest and most direct options as they become adults, others decide to make radical changes and throw themselves into a completely different path - creating the opportunities for themselves while others are happier just taking opportunities that are presented to them.

Sometimes a chance lucky opportunity if taken can make a person believe that they were destined for that path, others create their own destiny.

Depending on the environment and circumstances in which we live, we all have the chance to a lesser or greater degree to pave a totally different path for ourselves to the one that we are currently on - should we choose to do this....

we pave it!
everything's in our hands.. we've been given a great tool : a brain! we think.. we decide.. .we make choices and plans.. and we follow through.. so that would first we pave it.. and then we let it lead us to wherever it leads.. and if something is stopping in our way we make new choices and alter our pave.. following what we see best at the moment...

It's a personal choice some lay their path, these are the people who truly live life, and others walk upon an existing road, pity them for they will never truly live.

I used to be confused on this question until I read the teachings of the enlightened girl Sati. She pointed out that everything was inevitable.

I think we follow a given path but sometimes it doesn't matter if we pave our own but we are always put back on the path if we are meant to be there for a very good reason.
