the reason they were invented was the need to illuminate the night.

the effects of a candle on humans is quite primal, it after all reminds us of our very early beginnings as humans, it reminds us that of all the animals on earth we are the only ones that have the ability to produce and control fire.

candles have a positive effect on humans because they create the perfect "mood" lighting.

The way I see it, candles has always had the effect to calm the spirits, sort of like meditation. The effects can be positive because it brings your mind to a relaxed state, freeing you of any thoughts or worries you've had.

Candles were invented to bring light into living areas at night. They were more portable than large fires, especially if you were moving around. Now they still bring light when there are power outages, or you are camping, but we do use them more for creating a warm and soothing(can also be romantic) atmosphere in a room. They are also a great way for eliminating food odours when cooking., or for that matter, any unpleasant odour.

they were invented for me.... I look better by candlelight! I feel better in candlelight!
