Position:Home>Philosophy> What was Thomas Nagel's view on the Meaning of Life?

Question:Nagel suggests we consider a form of non religious teleology. (Teleology is part of the natural order of things).
This view eliminates people fear of religion, and provides for natural teleology.

This would require, first, that the laws of physics are not fully deterministic, so that the development of the universe might follow more than one path. Second, these possible paths would have different probabilities and the more probable ones would tend to produce life.

If you reject the religious and platonic views then you need to go back to the absurd according to Nagel, of athiesm and humanism both according to Nagel which are absurd!
