To do proper stretching, your hand needs to be parallel to the fingerboard azt all times!. This way, the pinky can stretch easily over one or 2 fret!.
A good exercise is to do this!.!.!.
Place index on the 3rd fret, any string!. Now use the pinky and do hammer-ons at the 6th and 7th fret without taking the index off the 3rd fret!.
1-4-1-4-1-4-1-4-1-4-1-4 (index and pinky finger only)
Then , with the finger on the 3rd fret, do this exercise with the index , ring and pinky finger in this fashion!.!.!.
1-3-1-4 (index, ring, pinky) and repeat it 25 times!.!.!.then 1-4-3 another 25 times!.
These exercise are most e3ffective when done on the 6th , 5th or 4th string since it is harder than the 1-2-3 strings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

What's the use!? You really don't need to do that!. Just practice to speed up your fingers!. If you notice, Master Segovia (Andres) he played without stretching his hand!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
