You can do this with the set up you have now!. You will need one more cable though!.

1!. Look at the "headphone out" on your guitar amp!. Is it the same size as your instrument cable!? If so you will need this type of cable http://accessories!.musiciansfriend!.com/p!.!.!. a 1/8 to 1/4 inch cable

2!. If its the size as a "normal" pair of headphones that goes to a Cd player or iPod just get a 1/8 to 1/8 cord!. (Your local Radio Shack should have both of these cables)

3!. Once you have the right cord plug the cord into Head Phone Out to your computer Mic Input and you should be able to record with Audacity

So the chain will look like this

Guitar>Amp Input> Head Phone Out > Line In/Mic (Computer)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I use Line 6 guitar port and Riff Works software!. I haven't messed with that since I recorded my last demo cd!. I think I'll go play with it now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well if you don't have garageband software you want to get it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
