Are you AUDITIONING FOR college!? What does your private teacher say!? Because if this IS for college - you need to basically DROP EVERYTHING and get to work on being incredible!. "What's not too hard" is not the issue - it is "what can I play WELL that shows my skill!?" IN the 4 to 5 hours a day you have, you should be able to accomplish this - with good teaching!. What ELSE are you playing!? Are you American!? I know best the American systems and school - and I am a piano competition judge!. Good luck - write back with more info!.

OK - a HS audition is far less pressure than college - but still important to you!. Unless you have STRONG opinions about something that you want to play, and you play it well - listen to your teacher!. They are choosing works based on your abilities, and how well those works will showcase them!.

I have been playing the piano since 1957!. Yup - no typo!. I have 3 degrees in music, but not in piano performance- music ed, and two in music theory!. My main instrument of performance for the last 30 years has been flute (long story !. !. ) but I use my piano skills daily as a choral and vocal director!. I retired from that this past June!. I am married to an INCREDIBLE pianist, and mother to another one - who now is a choral director in PA!. We live in NY!.

Good luck with your piano study - and good luck on your audition!Www@QuestionHome@Com
