Question: Does touching metal on a humbucker pick up ruin it!?
I had an allen wrench in my hand (made of metal) and i decided to screw around and touch my guitar's pick ups!. They're normal sized humbuckers, and I'm wondering if I wrecked the humbucker by getting near it with the metal and letting the metal stick to it!. Help!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Unless you go and screw off the pickup pole pieces, your pickups will be fine!.
Most humbuckers have adjustable pole pieces to fine tune the pickups sound!.
And would it make sense that pickups can't touch metal!? I mean strings are made of metal!.!. And if you ever decide (if you have a tremolo unit of some kind) anytime you ever divebombed, you'd wreck your pickups!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
it shouldn't unless you jabbed them and also i heard that if it is magnetized (the wrench) it can mees with the pickup!. i think that you should be fine thoughWww@QuestionHome@Com
You're good, unless you cut the wire!.!.!. Usually there is a covering of some sort to prevent dust, or a metal cover on it with wax!. Just don't do it too much or too forcefully, ok!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
No, and just so you know playing guitar with a wrench is not recommended!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
