Question: I have a problem with my Ibanez, Help!?
My first ever electric guitar was an Aria Strat!. I still love it! I co do pretty nice pinch harmonics on it whenever i summoned them!. Then a couple of years ago I worked my *** off for an Ibanez RGT6EX!. However since i've had it I haven't been able to do any real pinches on it, maybe on the middle strings but never on the bass string!.!.!.It's killing me! Is it the pick-ups or me, or something!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try raising the pickups!. They might be too low and not be picking up the pinches well!. Play around with it and you'll eventually find a sweet spot!.

If I remember correctly, the RGT6EX comes with EMG 81,85 stock right!?

These are actives and should have very easy pinches!. If the above doesn't work then your pickups might be losing power!. Try changing out the 9 volt!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would first check the differences in string height!. If you're using the same gauge of strings on both, then I would try setting the string height the same on both and see if that helped!. Ideally the neck should be ramrod straight too, as that helps sustain, and therefore the strength of your pinches!. So, basically do a full setup on it, or have one done!. Try and use the same gauge of strings on both guitars!.

I would raise the pickups!. While you don't want too much bass, higher pickup height will increase your output and that means a stronger pinch!.

Finally, I would look at upgrading the pickups to something hotter, ie Seymour Duncan JB's, Invaders, etc, whatever's appropriate to your style!.

every guitar plays different especially with the pinches, getting a new guitar requires you to get used to the feel and play of the new one!.!. keep practicing on it and eventually it will come, its probably not the guitar so much as you gotta get used to it!. can always have a buddy try to do it for you, or if you take it to a shop ask one of the people there to play it and see if they can do it!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Two possible causes: First, that the action on the Ibanez is higher than that on Strat!. Second, that you're using a heavier-gauge set of strings than you are used to!. Why not see if the action can be lowered or if a lighter gauge of strings makes a difference!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
