Question: Would I be wasting my $$$!?
Okay so I want to quit clarinet and do choir and guitar!. My parents bought me a clarinet about 2 years ago that is in good condition!. How much could I sell it for!? It's a Yamaha B flat clarinet!. also, would this be stupid of me to do!? I really LOVE to sing but I also want to do an instrument!. Should I just stick with clarinet!? The only problem with clarinet is that I wouldn't be able to do any of the ensembles before school and I think guitar seems like a lot of fun!. Anyway, do you think it would be stupid of me to quit and how much could I sell the clarinet for!? Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depends on the brand and where you sell it, and what 'good condition' means!. Clarinets can look clean on the outside but dirty on the inside!.You say you want to play an instrument but what about the Clarinet makes you want to give it up!? The reason why I ask this is that the every reason is probably the same reason why you will give up the next instrument!. For example, If you are wanting to give up Clarinet because its boring then what makes you think that guitar or singing isn't boring sometimes!. Instruments takes practice, discipline and concentration sometimes!. Its not all fun!

I may be bias because im a clarinet teacher but I say stick with the Clarinet!. It IS a beautiful instrument, Like all instruments , once you get past the challenges!. Start playing things you enjoy or ask your Clarinet teacher to find some music that you like!. Or better yet YOU find some music that you want to play and bring it to your lesson!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't quite clarinet or at least don't sell it! I used to play saxophone and I don't mean to sound up myself but I was fairly good at it then I quite and sold my sax about a year and a half ago and I really regret it!. I tried to play in a carols band this christmas and I had lost a whole lot of skill and my embouchure!.
I'd say try the choir and the guitar lessons before you quite and sell your instrument- you might find that you hate both and want to go back to clarinet!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
