Question: Which of the following are the best strings for electric gibson les paul!?

Simply put!.!.!.!.!.!. get Ernie Balls !.009 for better string-bending or !.010 for a slightly fatter sound!.
After setting up Gibson Guitars for 20 years for Gibson, the best reponse on a Les Paul are Ernie Ball strings for a good response especially since you have a preference for rock and metal!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Get the Ernie Balls from the first link!. Perfect gague for a Les Paul!. I use those particular ones on all my Gibsons and nothing else for the last 20 years!. Any lighter and you won't get the full tone out of your Paul!. Oh, and get them online from Musician's Friend, they're a couple bucks cheaper per pack!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

To be honest, your biggest problem is not which strings to buy, but why in HELL you say "no jazz or country"!?!!?!!?

What kind of pathetic musician decides to cut off and refuse to play a certain type of music!? A bad one, in all honesty!. I can guarantee you, with lots of evidence actually, that all the players you listen to are amazing at ALL genres!. People like John Petrucci, Zakk Wylde, Tony Iommi, Alexi Laiho, I dunno!.!.!. all the metal players you listen to, they will all have been brought up listening to and learning jazz music!. If you can't work out modal patterns over a simple minor 7 chord, you're utterly useless as a guitarist!. Get the best strings you can possible afford - you'll still be a worthless guitarist if you refuse to play as many types of music as you can!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First, do not buy them on Ebay, thats just stupid, especially because your getting ripped off, those Ernie Ball's are normally about 4-5 bucks, he is charging, what was it, 7 or 8!?
I suggest Ernie Ball's anyway
What size to use all depends on what tunings you are using
If you play standard 9's or 10's
If you use D tuning i would suggest 11's
If you play in C tuning use 13's
If you drop tune, use the Mix Sets EB sells, (Hybrid, Beefy, Heavy Top Skinny Bottom, Not Even)
But honestly if you don't even know what strings to use, why the hell do you have a Gibson Les Paul!?!?

And to the guy who talked about the no jazz or country part, I am a classically trained guitarist originally, then blues trained, now i play Punk, Metal, and Alternative only, he is likely saying that he only really plays Rock and Metal, so he does not need strings good for Jazz/Country, if he does not play themWww@QuestionHome@Com
