Question: Have I progressed really good within a year with guitar!?

Ive been playing for a year & 2 months!.

I just want to know If Im behind or infront of a years guitar work!.

I can play alot of rythym & lead parts from MetallicA!. No solos!. Like Am I Evil Devils Dance Unforgiven The Day That Never Comes the list goes on & on!.

I also can play a lot rythym lead parts from Slayer!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I can't really say, I think after a year I was playing Blackbird, Crazy Train, Bad Moon Rising etc!. decently, I knew all my main chords well and some of the important scales,and was just getting the knack for singing whilst playing!. If you can do that, you're ahead of me!. Everyone's gonna tell you this and you might already know but it really should be for fun that you play guitar , don't get bent out of shape on rules and what you "should" learn unless it's important to you!. You know, it's a kind of "go your own way" thing, different styles are developed by people not doing what everyone else is doing!. And how greatful I am for that variety!. Who knows!?
It depends how good you actually play them!.!.!.!.!.
But I'd say that's not terrible for a new guitarist!.
But it sounds like you've ignored what you really need to know to be able to play guitar well!.
How many chords do you know that aren't two or three finger "power chords"!? How many different guitar scales have you learned!? Do you know every note on the fretboard!?
If you have to think about it!.!.!.then you don't know enough!.

I mean you are actually playing something, so that's OK!. I just hope you will also try to learn the basics as well as you can so you'll have a good foundation to start from!.
