Question: What is a good snare drum!?
I'm looking for a new snare, something that looks good and sounds good!.

Towards sound, I really need something louder with more pop!. I already have some nice Snare heads so I know that isn't the problem!.

Towards price!.!.!. looking for something 300 dollars or less!. more around 200 would be nice!.

Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The most recorded snare in the history of music:

The Ludwig Supraphonic!.

They come in two models:

1!. The 400 5x14!. The Workhorse snare, people from Bill Bruford, Phil Collins, Nick Mason, Ginger Baker, Mitch Mitchell, John Densmore and Barrimore Barlow have used this snare!.

2!. The 402 6 1/2x14!. More volume, considered as "The John Bonham Snare", but other players like Mick Fleetwood, Ian Paice have used this snare as well!.

My advice, go after the ones from 1957 to 1984!. The Ludwig badges are as follows:

1957 to late 1969 (Original Keystone Badge)
Late 1969 to 1979 (Sharp Blue/Olive Badge)
1980 to 1984 (Rounded Blue/Olive Badge)
