I'd think that one of the most recognizable songs in the world is "Smoke On The Water" by Deep Purple!.
After 7 notes everyone should know what is is!. Some people would guess it after 3 notes! You shouldn't even need sheet music for it! Just listen to it and you could figure the notes out!. G Bb C/ G Bb Db C/ G Bb C!.!.!. Bb G!.
That's it!.

"Yesterday" by the Beatles would be a good one for violin, too!.

"I will always love you" by Whitney is very recognizable and might translate to violin OK!. (sickening but recognizable LOL)

"Back in Black" by AC/DC would sound interesting done on the violin!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When I am performing, I always include songs like "this land is your land" and "Hey Jude" because the audience ALWAYS knows them and appreciates hearing them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
