Hi Nida

Learn on whatever instrument that appeals to you soundwise!. And to say that an acoustic guitar is more versatile is an over-statement!.

The musician makes the instrument sound only as good as he or she is!. Their are more techniques on an electric guitar than on an acoustic!. All the techniques of an acoustic can be played on an electric or electric - acoustic but, not the other way around!.

Arpeggios (sweeps) finger- tapping, pulls-off sound better on an electric and they even sound picked as compared to the acoustic!. Same with hammer-ons / pull-off!.

Matter of taste!. Classical guitar is another thing altogether!. More romantic and actually helps when you finger pick on an electric with a classical technique!. It opens up new way of playing rhythm and for chord comping!.

One final thing, electric is easier on the finger whereas acoustic is harder but, it has its advantage!. It builds up finger strength as opposed to the electric!.
Better to practice every single day for 15 minutes, 7 days a week than to practice 1 hours here and there!.

Hope that helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, you can, but you might then find the switch to the acoustic (if you plan to at some point) to be a bit difficult!.

What kind of guitar you start on is really a matter of the kind of music you plan to play!. You know what you like, so you should have an idea of whether the acoustic or electric suits you better!.

So yes, you can learn on it, most definitely!. In fact, some people say it's easier to start on than the acoustic because it's easier on the fingers etc so it's not a problem!. The acoustic is more versatile though, but like I said, it doesn't really matter!. The learning curve isn't THAT different in my opinion!.

Just as long as you practice regularly, don't give up and have fun with it, it should be no problem!. This applies to any guitar!.

Good luck =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sure!. It's possible!. It's like ice skating before roller skating!.

I don't recommend it though!. The acoustic is a much more versatile instrument!. The electric is just a novelty, unless you can really play guitar!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes absolutely, Electric is only when you know how to play the instrument!. But to learn playing an instrument, go for any classical or acoustic guitars!. It would be of much help to you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
