Somewhere from West Side Story

(I could only find the Barbara Streisand version which isn't pure to the Broadway version but at least you can get a feel for it if you don't know it) http://searchbeta!.playlist!.com/results/1!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A big factor, as i am sure you know, is you voice style! I myself am a tenor so this is a big issue for me!.

If your in the upper range 'Somewhere' (West side story) is good!.

A belter!?!? Try either 'Don't rain on my parade' (Funny Girl)

or for more of a dynamic contrast 'I'm the bravest indivual' (Sweet Charity)

Of course acting is used in all performances but for a more difficult song, expecially if you are auditioning for Hope, is "I guess I'll miss the man' (Pippin)

Other ones that may be usefull depending on the character role are:
Wonderful Guy- South Pacific
My Heart belongs to Daddy- Leave it all to Me!!.!.!. Works well for any kind of 'whore'
Everythings coming up Roses- Gypsy!.!.!. very good if you are trying out for the mother!
Walk with Me- The Full Monty!.!.!. performed by a tenor, so no idea what it will sound like in a female voice, but i would try it out!.!. Its great if you need to show weakness!.
What I did for Love- A chours line!.!.!. a good ballad to always have in your book, very easy to change into your own image!.

Well I hope that this was of help!
