Playing saxophone with piercings?

Question: Playing saxophone with piercings!?

I play the Tenor Saxophone, and I was wondering!.!. If I were to get my lip pierced in the near future, would that interfere with my sax playing!?

Has anyone else had this issue before with any instrument!?

Nah, I play alto sax and have a lip piercing!. I just take it out to play!. It's just like normal playing!. No biggie!. I play with braces, piercings, and elastics, now that's hard!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am a woodwind competition judge in NY!. Even if you REMOVE the jewelery, you have done irreparable damage to your playing!. If you only play for fun, and do not CARE how you sound - at all - then go ahead and risk numbness, infection, and even potential endocarditis (that's infection of the HEART - yup, from piercings!.)

There will be people who tell you to go ahead, because nothing has happened to THEM - yet!. Well, "game not over" for them - yet!. You must realize that this is potentially STUPID idea - because you would not have asked!.
