Hi M

As for acoustic or acoustic - electric, youcan check out Takamine!. That is a well-built, very good sounding instrument!. The finishand the fingerboard are perfect with low action!.
You also have Ovation but is a little more clumsy whenyou play it sitting down!. The actions is not as good as Takamine guitars!.
Then you have the Cpx900 Yamaha!. That is a very good guitar as well!. I played all 3 and I chose the Takamine as a backup to my Gibson and Martin!. I loved the sound it had!.
Hope that helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You aren't going to get anything really very good in that price range - but you can find a decent one that sounds pretty good!. I could name a dozen different brands, but in all honesty - it is just going to be the one that feels the best to you when you play it!. Go to a a few different music stores and just pick them up and play them!. Go mostly by how they feel!. Once tuned properly, they will all sound fairly decent!.

If you want a little better quality for that kind of money, you might want to consider a used one!. Don't worry too much about how they look!. You can get a much better guitar for the price if it has a few dings!.
Then save your money and when you have about $2000, get you a new Taylor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have an old Ibanez PF that has never let me down, and yea I have a Martin and a few others, but in your price range I'd check that one out,Www@QuestionHome@Com
