Question: Difference between acoustic guitar and electric guitar!?
Playing styles, Difficulty!.!.!.How do they compare!? I currently play bass, and I would like to get an electric guitar or acoustic!. im leaning more towards acoustic since I just like the sound a bit more, and that it doesnt take as much set-up(im guessing)

Thanks in advance!.

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Acoustic:
-Builds finger strength (you gotta press down on the strings a bit to make sound come out)
-Nicer sound
-Easy to carry without a case (ie!. you can carry it in one hand and not have a problem)

Electric
-Easier to execute techniques and making sounds (doesn't require too much finger strength)
-Smaller than acoustic, but heavier
-Can use guitar pedals to make it have different effects (ie sound)
-Playing a fast lick sounds really cool
-More things to buy

Since you're leaning toward an acoustic, here are the good brands:
-Taylor
-Ibanez (I own one)
-TakamineWww@QuestionHome@Com

I would have to agree with you, I too prefer the acoustic sound better!. But why not get an acoustic/electric!? It's an acoustic with a pickup and can be played either way, plugged in or acoustic!.
and of coarse, I ALWAYS recommend Takamine!.
