Question: What are the down sides to down tuning the guitar to say CGCFAD!?

Why doesnt everyone do it!?
is it bad for the guitar!?
i know you cant play much on it but like is it bad for the neck!?
do i need to get my guitar adjusted cos ive been playing like this for a while and apparently it can harm the neck!?

No it's not bad for the neck, but it makes the strings prone to rattle because they will be quite loose!. Have you tried DADGAD tuning!?
Great for Celtic tunes!.

It won't break anything but you might find some frets buzz because the strings are looser and you might have to raise the action to stop it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
