Question: Auditioning Tips!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I'm auditioning for Belle in the school musical (hehe and I'm gna get it), it's for 7th and 8th grade and 8th graders usually get the leads and I'm in 8th grade lol!.

I need some tips, I already have the singing down for the most part but like not so much on the acting!. In our auditon we can't just sing it to the two drama teachers, we have to act like we're in the actual play singing it!. Ya know what I mean!?

I've never been in a play before, but I'm still going to get to be Belle :] I'll be singing Home for the auditon!. It's next week

It's all in the confidence!. If you are confident, your qualities will show and the director of the play will see that in you!. They will see you won't have problem being in front of people, delivering your lines without hesitation!. With confidence, you will be able to have at least a decent audition, if not a great audition!. If you are confident, then your voice won't be shaky, neither will your monologue!. Nor will you forget your lines!. To get confident, you have to know what you are doing THOROUGHLY so you don't even have to think!. You'll be doing it without much - if any - hesitation! But remember, as long as you tried your best and had fun, that's all that matters! Since it is a musical, singing isn't the only thing that will get you in!. Your acting is essential too, because it is musical theatre!. Make sure you know your monologue thoroughly and have practiced it until you know it so well, you won't have to think of your lines (or at least not look like it)!. As for your audition songS, make sure you prepare at least two to sing, so you can show how determined and prepared you are!. You can say, "I have prepared two pieces!.!.!."!. If you are to sing songs, I suggest two that contrast to show your range, power, and abilities/flexibility!. Something like a ballade and pop, ballade and rock, or something like that!. For the monologue, it would be good if you had it memorized and thoroughly practiced/known!. However, two might be even better! It's all in the effort too!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

well the song u are singing is a good choice!. wen acting u need to show a deep longing for something because that is what the lyrics are depicting!. also u need to be confident or it just wont work!. good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Since you stated twice that you are evidently somehow assured of securing the role, why do you need audition tips from us!?

my advice:

1!. u WONT get the part if u act as snobby and biatchy as you're doing by saying "I'm gonna get belle" k!?

2!. if you've never be in a play b4, u have either been to auditions and NOT made it, or u have never been to an audition!. get my point!?
you don't KNOW how the other people will do! it's not just u on the earth right!?

3!. that task isn't that difficult!. so, all it really is will be moving around and singing with expression!. doesn't sound so complicated!. i didn't get my part in the school play without trying!. u have to work for it!. so suck it up and try hard!.

usually i would say "good luck" at the end of one of my answers, but i don't feel like it because you don't sound like a very nice OR smart person!. next time ur confused about what to do at an acting audition , ask a director about it intead of coming to yahoo answers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your confidence is good!.!. But it's a bit too much!. You will want to tone it down because noone wants to work with a diva; trust me!. Besides if you don't end up getting the part, it will probably hurt twice as much since everyone else will be happy that you didn't because of a slightly large ego!.
But besides the ego issue!.
You basically just have to BE Belle!. Think of the message she is trying to send with the song!.!. She is confused and doesn't want to accept that her home is now with the beast!. So you have to deliver those feelings to the people watching!. I would avoid excessive movement!.!. Like don't try to act out every moment but just do what feels natural!. Try to put yourself in her shoes and see what kind of movements and facial expressions you would use to show how you feel!.
Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
