My mom signed me up for private voice lessons, and I slight scared because i don't know what to do!. I am also really shy and stuff and get stage fright easily when I am sing in front of someone I don't know!. I know my teacher will listen to me sing and stuff but I am afraid I won't sing loud enough the nervousness will prevent me from sounding good!.

Most reputable teachers work on technique first, so it's unlikely you'll be singing for some weeks yet!. By then you should feel comfortable enough with your teacher that you'll be over your nervousness!.

My students typically don't sing for the first three months!. They spend their first few lessons on breathing and their next few on relaxation and getting the vocal cords to meet properly!. When they do sing, their technique is already solid so that by that time they sound amazing, and it just keeps getting better after that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well first of all the teacher knows that you are not at your full potential or else you would not be taking lessons!. He or she is there to help you and teach you, not to judge you or make you feel silly!. They will teach you all kinds of warm up exercises and how to sight read music!. You can take them sheet music of songs that you really like and they can play the piano for you while you sing!. I get very nervous when singing in front of people as well, but sometimes I feel it is easier to sing in front of someone I dont know!. After you get used to your teacher and have had a few lessons, you will probably start to find them quite fun and helpful!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well!.!.!.when you have lessons !.!.this is where you can make mistakes and it can be perfectly fine!. Don't be nervous!.!.you are there to learn!. You will basically go in and the voice teacher will probably see what your range is!.!.how high or low you can go!. You will also start with vocal warmups!.!.!.!.on the piano basically matching the tone you hear and she will show you different exercises(to help strengthen the diaphragm etc)!. Then you will learn songs you pick and your voice teacher picks and work and hone your skills!. You will learn as many vocal techniques as you can!. Some say you should only stay with your teacher a year because you can only learn soo much from one teacher and many teachers have a lot to offer!. GOOD LUCKWww@QuestionHome@Com

I can relate with guitar: I took lessons from this one lady who always accompanied me when playing, so I never got a chance to do anything by myself!.

My next-and current-guitar teacher made me play by myself on the first day!.!.!.and THAT was scary!. I couldn't get away from it so I just played whatever I had that was in front of me on the stand!. I was nervous for sure because I wasn't used to it, but now I'm fine!.

Your teacher will understand that you're nervous because she or he has probably been in your position on the first day of lessons!. You'll get used to singing in front of the teacher after a few lessons!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They won't criticize you !. !. !. they will tell you if you need to get higher or lower or faster or slower louder or softer!. At first you'll be nervous, but soon you might think of your teacher as a sort-of friend!. They'll be right next to you and it will probably have a comfortable atmosphere, if it doesn't, you should tell your mom for sure!. You don't need to be prepared or anything, that's his job, he will make so your not nervous!. You should learn mes to forte, piano, crescendo, and all those other terms!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

sing with confidence, even if you're not!. practice (i play violin, but i'm pretty sure vocalists practice for lessons)!. my first few lessons with my new teacher made me a little nervous, but you get accustomed to them and you soon know what to expect and it becomes routine!. no worries, it'll be second-nature in no time!. You'll get used to it, believe me!. After the first couple of lessons, singing for your teacher will be no different than singing by yourself!. She's there to help you get better; it's unlikely she hasn't heard anything worse!. She's probably heard it all!. Don't worry, you'll get better with her help!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The teacher normally comes on to you, they try to put music on your lap and try to grab your junk under the musicWww@QuestionHome@Com

close your eyes!? record yourself before hand and then let him/her critique!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
