Question: A question about scales!.!?
How do you find the 1sts, 2ths, 3rds-7ths of every scale such as c scale or d scale, ect!? also,I play guitar which means I am trying to learn about the pentatonic scales!. I know that it composes of 5 notes but i am unsure how to play them on my guitar because of the fact i can't pick out these 1st-7st on these scales!. One theory I came up with is that you have to straight memorize them for each scale!. Although I could do this, as like many stuff in music, they have a pattern!. Could someone reject/agree with this theory after they explain how to pick our the 1sts-7ths!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't play the guitar so i really don't know a whole lot about the 1sts and the other things!. But if a pentatonic scale is like an arpeggio i can help you there!.!.!.the best thing to do is to learn the entire scale, for instance concert Bb, and then like for a sax the scale goes g,a,b,c,d,e,f#,g up and down!. in an arpeggio which, the exercise we use, it would be the g,b,d,g,d,b,g!. but thats a sax im not sure exactly the difference except that on a guitar you get to play the same notes in higher pitches!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
