Question: Any Recording Engineers or Home Recording Musicians out there!? Question concerning bass tones!?
I am nearing the completion of two of my songs and still need to record bass but I don't have a bass amp!. My digital audio interface is Presonus's Firestudio Tube ( http://www!.floridamusicco!.com/proddetail!.!.!. )!. Should I just plug the bass directly into one of the super channels!? Can I achieve a good tone that way!? Note that my knowledge of using compressors and limiters is practically nonexistent!. Or -- do you know of any good bass amp simulation plug-ins (free or cheap)!? Any suggestions are appreciated!. Thanks!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi Stand

That Firestudio accepts microphones and instruments!. It also comes with Cubase software if I am not mistaken!. You won't need other pre-amps either since that unit has a built - in pre-amp!.

Put the bass right through it and set everything flat!. By that , I mean bass, mid, and treble at a dead center sort of speak!.
On playback, you can add or subtract bass, mid, treble but not while recording!.
You need the cleanest sound possible so you can tailor it later!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
