Question: How do you find good songs!?
Hi,
I'm on the lookout for ways to discover more songs to add to my music collection!. Just wondering, how do you all find your music!? Do you just get the things on the radio, whatever your friend's listening to, or what!? I don't need the latest hits, I'll like any GOOD song, but I tend not to like real old stuff, like 80's music!.!.!.
Are there any sites out there where people post their ipod playlists or just post their favorite songs, and people rate those playlists!? I just don't have the time to wade through hundreds of useless tracks to find one or two good ones!.

Firstly, "good" is a very general definition and on the whole, anything can be considered good!. What I think you're asking is for songs that suit your taste!.
The way I find new music is by either hearing it on streams, or on radio!. Very occasionally I get introduced to new artistes through friends (who are, of course, fans)!. A useful way of finding "good" songs is by looking back at chart toppers - I used to find some really nice songs with interesting melodies and textures in their music!.
Then, of course, there are compilation albums to look at!. These are usually sold in CD shops but I don't know about the varieties of CDs sold overseas!. All I know is that here in Singapore we get compilation albums - of different genres - published quite often annually!. These often have music that pleases most!.
There are sites with such playlists!. An example would be imeem!.com!. Imeem is an online music community where people share their taste in music by posting up their favourite songs and such!. It's a really nice place for discovering new genres and new artistes!.

Read some biographies about some of your favorite artists!. I got into Sonic Youth, The Vaselines, The Melvins, Mudhoney, Half Japanese, Pearl Jam, and indirectly, Sex Pistols, The Ramones, and other punk rock bands just by reading one biography of Nirvana!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
