Think about the type of music you like!. I am learning clarinet because it is easy to learn and plays light jazz and classical!. Saxaphone is next on my list, in order to play more jazz!. I recommend you get a teacher for 1 to 1 instruction!. The teacher should expect a lot from you, otherwise it will get boring!. You absolutely must practice, but that's easy because the clarinet sounds so good!. Developing your embrochure (grip by your mouth/lips/teeth) on the instrument will quickly improve on the clarinet!. Sax is a bit easier, I hear!. It will be one of the best things you ever did!.
There will be adult amateur groups if you ask around, and look on the Internet!. I am joining one that a friend is involved with!. When the music is too fast or too hard, some people just wait that part out, until they get to the parts they can play!. Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you know how to read music!? That can make things so much easier regardless of which instrument!. I went to music school and although I'm in my early 20's I was required to learn every instrument!. I definitely found clarinet and saxophone the easiest to learn!. I am a trombonist so I know how to play brass instruments so I am not sure how difficult it is to learn brass from scratch as an adult!. Piano is somewhat easy to learn as well, but any instrument takes practice and dedication!! Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

well, for group and ensemble playing the clarinet is very versatile!. you can play it in a jazz or blues band, or in an orchestra, or in a chamber group!.

and i found it really easy to pick up (however i was ten at the time and apparently children learn things much qicker than adults) and the first time i picked one up i could play mary had a little lamb in about 5 minutes!.

and, also, when played correctly they have a beautiful tone!. its a good choice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi, for me then answer is easy , its the guitar, I had 4 lessons and was able to play chords (rythm) for over 200 songs (I liked the beatles and some older stuff)!.

For instance if you just learned 4 chords (Em, G, D, A), you could play (and sing) Mad World, from Tears for Fears (Gary Jules)!. In a few weeks you could play like this random girl I found on you tube!.

Recorder is pretty easy!.

Piano was mentioned above, but I find it difficult to read two staffs, and coordinate both hands at the same time!. That's twice the work of, say, the recorder, or any of my lower brass instruments!. :-)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Pick an instrument that you really like and that there are places for you to perform, unless you are happy playing just for yourself!.
Keyboard and guitar are good for your own enjoyment!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

kazooo!.

or try the trumpet or something!.

If you learn the piano you can join a church group!. but i know the piano takes years of experience to get good at itWww@QuestionHome@Com
