I learnt guitar for the first time last year, and after lessons my fingers hurt so bad, and sometimes they went completely numb!. you just have to keep at it!. the more you practise, the less itll hurt next time!. youll like build up callouses or wateva on ur fingers anyway and then it wont hurt!.!.

anyway for the mean time when my fingers got sore i got my friends to massage them for me!.!. it really helps! lol

Once you start playing more frequently and more complicated stuff then your fingers will get use to it!. Basically if you rub your fingers against wire or hold them against wire for awhile they will kill, shred, even cut because they are soft and are not use to the rough surface!. but fear not, your fingers will get use to it and adapt, this is why your finger tips are going hard, they are hardening up so that it will cause you less pain and will do less damage to ur fingers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try a nylon string guitar!. They're much easier on the fingers and you can condition your fingers more slowly and enjoy the fun of learning songs and chords without so much pain!. Then when someone passes you a steel string guitar, you'll have the fingering down and can concentrate on distributing the pain evenly!.

I learned on a nylon string, they have a beautiful honey sound, they're a little quieter which is good for playing late at night, and they're much easier to play! They're also excellent for finger picking!. Playing with a pick is actually not the ideal way to learn guitar!. Check out this video!. I'm a rock musician, but this guy is a trip! Look at his right hand technique! insaaaaaane! and it's a nylon string, more forgiving on those absurdly difficult chords and finger reaches he's doing which would buzz or flub on a steel string!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Its only natural to feel pain while playing guitar!.After about a week of good practice your tips of your fingers harden and you dont feel pain anymore!. If it still hurts try using a lighter string gauge or adjusting the string distance from the fret!. If you have any doubts about these go to your nearest guitar store and theyll do it for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I am also a new guitar player!. And I am just learning to pick notes, so I get blisters on my index and middle finger!. But I found that if you keep practicing everyday, your fingers get used to it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You just need to keep practicing!. Eventually, your fingers will form calluses on the end giving your fingers a thicker padding against the string!.

Keep playing!Www@QuestionHome@Com

its supposed to do that
just keep playing
eventually you'll form callusesWww@QuestionHome@Com

No pain, no gain, they will soon be calloused and then hurt from muscle exertion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

that feeling will go away shortly!. practice 20-30 mins a day until your finger tips get conditionedWww@QuestionHome@Com
