Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Jimi used marshall amps volume 11 full wack
a cry baby vox wah pedal, and any fuzz distortion making box he could get!.That is for live work!.
Dont forget that in the recording studio Jimi was a geniouse and was aways looking for new sounds and new effects non stop!. He had the electric ladyland studios made at his specs and in his recordings would even use roll up paper, old combes and anything as long as he got the sound in his mind!.
But you know, even if we gave you the same set up as he had, nobody would sound like Jimi did, and this applies to us all guitar players, we all have our little unique character, only that Jimi is a legend who showed us all the way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Jimi made the guitar sound like that!. back then the effects were pretty limited to a wah, reverb and a bit of distortion, so to make up for it he distorted the guitar, cool huh!Www@QuestionHome@Com

The greats always say "Your sound is in your fingers", but since Hendrix was playing in the late 60s, early 70s, I would suggest that a tube amp turned up loud was probably his main "effects pedal"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

his amp had the controls all the way up, and made most sounds using his guitar controls!. he also used a cry baby wah wah pedal!. he would also occasionally use his ring as a slide!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
