Hi:

Disregard what everyone has said on here, as obviously they are very uneducated when it comes to First Act guitars!. While they sell them at department stores, its very obvious no one has had the pleasure of playing the First Act Limited Edition Delia, ($2200!.00) or the Limited Edition Sheena at $1800!.00!. (Just 2 of the many First Act guitars I have played) I have played the CE 540 several times, and it is an extremely nice guitar!. Very fast neck, decent electronics, and every bit as playable as an EPI Sheraton!.

While they do sell some JUNK at department stores, they do make wonderful guitars!. Just last year, 5 TOURING PROFESSIONAL GUITARIST were asked to rate 35 guitars with a street price of under 500 bucks!. The First Act Lola CE 140 scored a 4 out of a possible 5, and had as high or a higher score than 18 guitars costing 50-100 more!. By the way!.!. Fender has gone into the department store business of selling guitars too, so does that make ALL Fenders junk!?

I can't find a review for the specific guitar you're looking at, but in general, First Act guitars are cheap instruments, most models not much better than toys!. They seem to appeal mostly to parents looking for inexpensive guitars for young children!.

They're not "good" guitars by any stretch of the imagination, but if you want a guitar for you or your kid to start out on, without spending a lot of money, you might be able to get away with one of these!. But you'll probably have to replace the strings and put some money into getting it set up before its playable!.

I'll second that comment that First Act guitars are basically toys!.

If you're looking for a semi-hollow electric guitar, you'd probably be much much better off getting one of the Ibanez artcore series, or an Epiphone Dot!.
They're excellent quality in a budget price range!.

Here's a few examples to look at:
My recommendation, since I've played and loved these (and owned a full hollow different model Artcore, which was fantastic for a budget guitar): http://guitars!.musiciansfriend!.com/produ!.!.!.

You really can't go wrong with Dots either:

First-Act, in general, is trash in my opinion!. You'll be better off with a Epiphone Hollow body electric guitar to begin with!. It's made by Gibson

But any one of these guitars would be better than a First Act

I have a First-Act bass guitar and it is good for a beginner!. I plan on getting a better one when I can get some money!. My Pastor has a first-act electric and he said the necks on the are thin so they make a bending sound, the bass necks are thicker!.
Check out this site for some nice guitars!.!.!.!.

No, sorry, but it's not a good guitar!. That's why you'll never see one at a music store, which is where you should be shopping for a guitar!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
