Some dude said that and it made me think!.!.!.why do people say it is social suicide are people that stupid!? I love band to death!. I get those stupid people that say we are geeks or losers on the internet!. Do they say it because they are jealous!? or do they just want to get a rise out of someone!? I think the people that say that usually have no idea what they are talking about!. My question is do you think these people are stupid!?

And people will always make fun of things that they dont understand!. What they do not know is that you do love what you do, and that they are only make themselves look ignorant by being so harsh!.Www@QuestionHome@Com They probably aren't actually stupid in terms of raw intelligence, but they are socially stupid!. If you get my drift!. And you're right - this guy has no idea what he's talking about!. In my high school, the person who was voted president of the concert band TURNED DOWN being captain of the football team because a) he loved band more and b) it was a more prestigious position at that school!. Being in the concert band meant you HAD to play in the marching band as well!. This guy was very much looked up to!. People say dumb things!. The fact that the individual at your school thinks the way he does about marching band isn't really the problem; the fact that he thinks it's cool to say this to your face makes him incredibly rude and, IMHO, a loser!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Well it depends on how good and large your schools band is!. Our band is huge and does really well at competitions so we are actually appreciated!. Our football team stays and watches us when we play post-game and we always get standing ovations when we play half time!. But then again, we have a lot of popular kids and athletes in our band!. For those who are less appreciated, I would say it's because the uniforms and the smart people tend to flock to band!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Plenty of kids who do marching band are geeky!. And plenty of them aren't!. Who cares!? If you enjoy doing it, stick with it!. I marched my junior and senior year of high school, and I did it because my friends were in it!. And they weren't geeks!. I have a friend who continued to march in college and he loves it!. I've visited him at school and his band friends are all great people!. Ensemble music is fun, the end!.Www@QuestionHome@Com They're either saying it because they're jealous and they're not musically inclined enough to where they could play an instrument, or they just think saying that is the cool thing to do!. Most people are jealous I wanted to join the band this year in my high school but you have to be in a special class and i did not know :( the band is as much as impotant as lets the the football teamWww@QuestionHome@Com I admit since I joined marching band I've not had much free time, but I've honestly never had more fun!. Yeah, I think people who say things like that are jealous!. It's one of the best ways to make friends at least for me!. Just ignore the dude- you're cooler than him!.
