Mind you this is my raw vocals, no editing, and sorry about the falsetto at the end, I sang to close to the mic

And please tell me what I can do to get better, exercises and such, and please be brutally honest and tell me what I'm doing wrong!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think a 6 with those high notes!. Now i had an average voice and i could not hit high notes, i did some exercises i made my lungs stronger and bigger for air so i couldsing and not breathe so much!. I have half the lungs as other poeple but i go to the gym run the treadmill about 6 miles!. I have a timer and i will walk for 5 minutes then slowly get started again and hut running!. It really helps for the lungs and you should take daily fiber pills the chewies are the best!. This gives you alot more air and everything!.

One reason we have trouble as we go higher is that we tense the muscles and the muscles "grab"!. This constricts other muscles and the sound!. You want to try to keep the largynx down (not forced)!.!. one trick you might try is as you are doing exercises (I would do a triad up & down - C-E-G-E-C (for example)!. While doing it lower your jaw!.!. hold your hands on the side of your face (palms to cheeks) and use the heal of your hands to "hold" the jaw down!. The jaw may be tense and want to move - by holding the jaw down (or open) while singing you are just trying to "remind" or teach the jaw and throat muscles not to lift up!. If you sing with an open mouth (jaw down) it is more difficult to raise the largynx - which is sometimes what causes constriction!.

Don't overdo this - and, of course, you can't sing all the time with the mouth wide open - but it will be more open when you sing higher!. When you sing in the middle - the mouth will be more closed!.

It's hard to describe here - but just keep working with your teacher and practicing smartly!. Go as high as you can without straining!.!.!. then you will get that right and note by note you will be able to go higher!. Take your time and relax! And work on the breath!

Best of luck!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

you shouldnt breath so much when you sing and sing from deep in your chest instead of from your nose but you have a really good voice and with proper training or just by practicing you could be an AWESOME singer:) i give you a 7 1/2Www@QuestionHome@Com
